Amazing Autistic Kid
This little boy amazes me everyday! To the doctors who said he would never......wrong again!
Guess who learned how to ride a bike today..of course training wheels are still on but one more thing to add to our achievement list....way to go Parker!!!

Rough week of meltdowns .....
April12th-May 1st, 2013
Parker has been off schedule these past 2 weeks due to testing at school and a different routine when we drop him off. He usually goes to his homeroom first then his aide comes to get him to take him to the special needs unit. With testing we now drop him off at the library and his aide comes and picks him up there. His scheduled day is off too. So we got a phone call on April 25th about how Parker tried to hurt his teacher and got a hold of her hair. It took 3 adults to get him off her. Then on the next day he tried to go after her again this time she was ready. Well then the weekend came he was fine. Then Monday came and he had OT that day. Well low and behold he tried to bite the OT teacher. Now biting is something new he has never done before. And as for the attacking the teacher he use to do that to me but it's been along time since he tried that. So we asked the teachers what was he doing so I may try and understand and help him not be so frustrated. I know he is frustrated and can't tell me or show me what's wrong. That's the hard part about this. The only thing I can tell is either he is off from his schedule changing (because these kids love routine) and also he doesn't like to be wrong and told that he is wrong. (takes after daddy there..lol) So we are going to wait after testing week is over to see if these problems still exist then we will call in for help. Until then please give me the strength to hang in there.

New Year
As we are heading into the New Year lets go back and remissness about 2012 and Parker. He has come along way to this point. We have taken him out of private school and phased him back into public school but in a special needs unit. For reasons beyond our control we had to. But I feel he will do just fine in public school. He has already settled in and is showing positive motivation to learn.
Things Parker is able to do at this point in his life: ABC's , numbers, write his name, identify colors and shapes, great eye contact, recognizes different people and will tell you their names, point things out ,great helper in school, knows days of the week, knows what day it is, names all his trains by right names, dresses himself, pee pee in big boy toilet, brushes his teeth without assistance, washes his hands without assistance,waves high and goodbye to people,talks a little more with voice prompt,gets his own drinks and food (helps himself to refrigerator) There is probably more to this list I'm forgetting. But for a kid who was diagnosed at 2 and doctors saying he wont HE HAS!!!!
